Senior Manager/Supervisor
Synergetics’ client is targeting ~25% growth in the next five years. Two consultants will play a critical strategic role in ensuring the company’s operational capacity aligns with its commitments. The project is 5 weeks long in Germany, on-site. The consultant must be fluent in English and German. This is not just a process improvement role—it’s about designing and structuring a comprehensive transformation program in a manufacturing environment. Manufacturing experience and organizational/process optimization are required. Proven experience aligning projects and stakeholders required.

Synergetics collaborates with clients across the globe. We reimburse for all travel expense and give a per diem for meals and incidentals. Convenient access within one hour from an international airport is needed.

Scope of Work & Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Lead the identification, alignment, and documentation of key initiatives needed for growth.
- Initiative Mapping: Gather existing improvement projects, ongoing initiatives, and emerging ideas.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct interviews and analysis with relevant teams (Sales, Planning, Production, etc.).
- High-Level Analysis & Documentation: Prepare project charters for key initiatives, ensuring clarity on scope, objectives, and execution strategy.
- Program Roadmap Development: Organize all identified initiatives (projects) into a comprehensive “ready to execute” program roadmap.
- Project Lead: The consultant will own the execution of this effort, ensuring alignment across all business functions.
- Support Resource: They will be assisted by one junior team member to help with research, documentation, and coordination.
- Develop accountability frameworks to support organization changes to meet internal and external service level agreements
- Engage with clients to understand the current state of their business and establish positive relationships that build credibility
- Gather and analyze relevant data, conduct client interviews, and visit facilities to observe operations first-hand
- Identify and catalog problems, challenges, risks, and opportunities
- Develop performance metrics and construct reports that effectively represent current state and desired future state
- Develop and evaluate alternative strategies to achieve specific savings objectives
- Create and utilize workplans to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks with a high sense of urgency across one or more workstreams
- Create reports and presentations for use in communicating findings to client management and implementation teams; present “the story”
- Collaborate with clients to define requirements for tools, systems, and processes; recommend design improvements; then, provide implementation oversight including creating documentation, delivering training, and coaching
- Work in a hands-on mode until potential alternatives are exhausted and future state procedural workstreams are in place, evaluated, and fully functioning
- Collaborate with project team members / clients to design and implement effective solutions to complex business problems; continuously evaluating to uncover new opportunities with the client
- Interact with peers to foster your support network, and empower career development
- 10 to 15 years of Management Consulting and experience leading consulting teams and with responsibility for management of C-Suite client stakeholders
- Senior-Level Expertise: Must have experience leading complex supply chain and operational improvement projects.
- Executive Credibility: Must be comfortable engaging with senior leadership and securing buy-in.
- Onsite Presence: Required to be in Germany across multiple plant locations near Düsseldorf for the 5-week engagement.
- Proven critical thinking skills in both data collection and complex analysis; ability to identify data gaps and risks, develop sound conclusions, and create implementable and sustainable recommendations for improvement
- Project Management
- Exemplary skills across Microsoft Office including Excel data analysis, statistical review, and modeling, and Power Bi
- Industry & Process Understanding: A background in manufacturing supply chains and process optimization would be highly valuable.
- Language: proficiency in German and English
- Effective communication skills in both languages for interviews, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Can navigate corporate and technical discussions in German, especially in manufacturing and supply chain contexts.
- Are comfortable presenting findings and leading discussions with senior leadership in both languages.
- Proven ability to create communications that “tell the story”, and effectively deliver presentations of content in a customer-facing forum
- Bachelor’s degree
- MBA or Master’s degree preferred
